Signs that you should replace your windows include drafts, difficulty opening and closing, condensation problems, rotting frames, or excessive noise. Windows are also a great way to increase the kerb appeal of your home.
Well-maintained windows from Cliffside should last around 20-40 years.
This varies depending on the size, material, style, and complexity of your installation. The good news is, you can get a free quote here from Cliffside.
Windows from Cliffside are available in a huge range of colours. This means that no matter if you’re looking for something minimalist, standout, contemporary, or traditional, we’ve got the perfect choice for you.
Features such as Georgian bars, leaded lights, and bevelled feature designs are a great way to make your new windows bespoke to you.
Both double glazing and secondary glazing are effective at improving the insulation of your home, but they have a few key differences.
Double glazing completely replaces existing windows with new units containing two panes of glass, whilst secondary glazing adds an extra layer of protection on the inside of your existing windows.
Having secure windows is vital for your peace of mind and keeping your loved ones safe. We recommend looking out for windows with multi-point locking systems, reinforced frames, and impact-resistant glass.
Installing new windows gives a vast range of benefits including added comfort, energy efficiency, security, aesthetics, and increasing your home’s value.
In truth, this depends on what you’re looking for.
uPVC stands as the UK’s most popular window material, largely thanks to its affordability. It’s cheaper than other materials as it’s able to be produced in bulk, though this does not mean you have to compromise on modern-day benefits. uPVC windows has impressive thermal efficiency and durability and is easily customised to look however homeowners would like.
Aluminium on the other hand is also more affordable than an option like timber and provides homes with a premium feel. Given the strength of the material, slim frames can support expansive glass panes, allowing sunlight to flow into your home. It’s also highly customisable, thermally efficient, and durable.
As beautiful as it is, we don’t recommend timber for modern homes. It’s an incredibly high-maintenance material and is prone to insect damage and weathering – with its recognisable appearance now easily replicated with uPVC and aluminium effects.
Casement windows are the UK’s most popular window style and are hinged on the side, usually made from uPVC or aluminium.
Bay windows are ideal if you’d like panoramic views due to their curved style, whilst flush sash windows beautifully replicate timber with the modern benefits of uPVC or aluminium, sitting completely level with the frame.
Sliding sash windows have been around since the 17th century and are a great option to provide local homes with traditional charm.
Yes, at Cliffside we offer a warranty on windows to give you peace of mind for years to come.
There are several different types of doors, with a few examples listed below.
uPVC Door: The most popular door type from Cliffside, uPVC doors are loved for their design flexibility, durability, and energy efficiency.
Composite Door: A popular modern-day front door, composite doors are made from a combination of materials, often having a solid timber or foam core, along with a glass-reinforced plastic outer skin. This gives them a whole host of modern benefits.
French Doors: A romantic choice, French doors open outwards and are an excellent way to connect the indoors with the outdoors of your property. With a traditional appearance, they’re a great way to enjoy your living space.
Bifold Doors: The premier option when it comes to allowing natural light to flood into your property, bifold doors fold along a track and neatly stack up into the corner. Most commonly used as an external door, they can often accommodate up to eight ‘leaves.’
Sliding Doors: Sometimes known as patio doors, sliding doors glide horizontally along a track, and are often constructed using the innovative uPVC.
There are several signs that your door needs to be replaced. These include worn or broken locks, drafts, air leaks, visible cracks, peeling paint, excessive noise, difficulty opening and closing, or high energy bills. These defects can lead to security concerns, more expensive heating bills, and general inconvenience. Of course, if you just fancy a stylistic change, that’s a viable reason too.
This depends on the door that you opt for. As a rule of thumb, the average life expectancy for a uPVC front door is 20-25 years. In comparison, composite doors are generally expected to last around 30 years, though with good maintenance this lifespan can stretch much further. Aluminium doors are incredibly durable and resistant to weather conditions, and as a result, can last up to 45 years.
This will vary depending on the size, material, style, and complexity of your installation. To give you a better idea of how much money your next home improvement project will cost, you can get a free quote from Cliffside here.
At Cliffside, we’re incredibly proud of the huge range of colours that our doors are available in. Whether you want a composite front door installed with a woodgrain effect, a bifold door in a contemporary black, or a bright blue French door to match your windows, we’ve got the perfect option for you.
Yes! As well as a wide range of colours, we also offer customers the chance to choose the perfect glazing options for them. More transparent options will allow more natural light to flow in, whilst decorative selections not only look beautiful, but they add to the privacy of your home.
Aside from our composite doors, you’re promised a door made from the innovative uPVC, an option that’s shot to popularity as the UK’s favourite door material, or timeless aluminium. Both of these options are incredibly thermally efficient, durable, low maintenance, and customisable to truly create the bespoke door of your dreams – with all the perks that you’d desire from a modern-day door.
Patio doors work by sliding along a track to one side, meaning none of the precious space within your garden is compromised by doors that open outwards. French doors, on the other hand, are traditionally hinged double doors that open out onto your garden or patio.
Yes! Installing new doors will give a fresh feel to your home, increasing interest from potential buyers as well as your asking price should you ever wish to sell.
Yes! Every product installed by Cliffside is available with a comprehensive warranty, for your peace of mind.

Yes, a well-designed and properly installed conservatory can add significant value to your property.
On average, a conservatory can increase your home’s value by 5-15%.
However, the exact value increase depends on factors such as the quality of the installation, the materials used, and how well it integrates with your existing property.
In many cases, conservatories fall under ‘permitted development’ and don’t require planning permission.
However, there are some restrictions:
The conservatory must not cover more than half the area of land around the original house
It should not extend beyond the rear wall of the original house by more than 3m for an attached house or 4m for a detached house
The maximum height should be 4m for a single-storey rear extension
Side extensions must be single-storey with a maximum height of 4m and width no more than half that of the original house.
It’s always best to check with your local planning authority or consult with us at Cliffside Windows to ensure compliance with local regulations.
Signs that your conservatory may need replacing include:
Persistent leaks or draughts
Condensation between glass panes
Discoloration or warping of frames
Difficulty in opening or closing windows and doors
Increased energy bills due to poor insulation
Outdated design or style
Cracks in the glass or roof panels
If you’re experiencing any of these issues, it may be time to consider a replacement conservatory from Cliffside Windows.
